Tire Group International was founded in 1992 by Antonio (Tony) Gonzalez. In 2015, Tire Group International appointed its chief operating officer, Joaquin Gonzalez Jr., president. Its 200,000 sq. ft. distribution facility is headquartered in Miami, Florida with offices in Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Mexico and China and additional satellite warehouse locations in Texas, Germany and China. In 2013, Tire Group International was granted Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) 281-4 status, one of only three other such companies in the U.S.A. A foreign trade zone (FTZ) is an area within the borders of the U.S. that the United States government considers outside of U.S. customs territory. A foreign trade zone warehouse operates under different rules from a bonded warehouse, which is considered to be inside U.S. territory. TGI carries over 40 brands of tires as well as several brands of tubes, and engineers and develops their own lines under the brands Astro Tyres, Cosmo Tires, Duramas, Orion Tires and Industar.

Manufacturing Partnerships
- In 2014, Tire Group International and Pro Comp entered into a distribution agreement allowing Tire Group International exclusive distribution of Pro Comp branded tires and wheels throughout Colombia.
